The inspiration for making candles came while my daughter,
Estelle, was at university in Cornwall and we wanted something creative we
could do together despite the distance. Estelle and her friends had tried
making candles before and so it seemed like the perfect place to start. We
always had a candle burning at home and so making our own was something we
could do from our own homes.

We had no idea how much there was to learn, but after
countless hours of researching, experimenting, testing fragrances and waxes,
admittedly making a few candles that were better suited to the bin than the
living room, Esme Candles was born. Patience and determination finally paid off
and a collection was created that we thought was worth sharing.

The name Esme Candles was born from a combination of Estelle
and Me. Estelle does not have as much time to get involved as she used
to have, but the name is still a reminder of how it all started.

Today, every Esme candle is still hand-poured in small
batches with the same care and attention that inspired the first creations.  The fragrances are carefully selected and
they are paired with timeless, minimalist containers that compliment every
home, whether your style is modern, traditional or somewhere in between.

Candles are about more than fragrance; they create atmosphere,
mark special moments and bring some calm to everyday life. Whether you’re
unwinding after a long day, welcoming friends into your home, or simply enjoying
a quiet cup of coffee, I hope our candles helps make that moment a bit more special.
